This is a REALLY bad workplace

Pros

The location, I guess and a few of the employees (most who are already gone now).

Cons

This is a rough place to work. The CEO is extremely arrogant and condescending and will actually "set up" employees in order to have a reason to berate and belittle them. This is truth. The COO and CEO both micro-manage every detail of everyone's job. They both will also pin you down, in front of others, until you say exactly what they want to hear, even if it what they are looking for is 100% absurd. And technologically speaking, the tools and softwares made available to do your job are outdated and cumbersome. I've never experienced anything like this place in my life and the job I was at before this one was tough. I literally felt nauseous driving into work the last few weeks I was there and you'd better believe that I spent every waking free moment searching for a new job ( and started my search a little after a few weeks of working there.) Turnover is super high. If you are reading these reviews because you're considering employment there, DON'T. Turn around - don't drown. This is a toxic and soul crushing place to be.

Pros

Casual dress Free snacks and coffee was nice Dogs are allowed in the office Happy hours every month ("Teambuilding" but most people leave early. It seems to be an excuss to charge booze to the company) Their older product line was good. New products are a fiasco

Cons

All of the reviews on METADOT, their parent company, are accurate if not worse than stated. I heard some of the good reviews were written by office managers when they first arrived. Yet, the turnover rate for them and other employees was extremely high. At one point, the president/coo's employees were turning over every 3-6 months. It does not take long to figure out why. The owners are completely unreasonable, argue just to be right, and assign pointless tasks that take you away from what they hired you to do. They create a very toxic environment. It was about as close to a dictatorship I guess I will see in the US. I am not sure why they hire experienced people because they only want to tell them what to do anyway - and I mean everything. They do not listen to customer's feedback and certainly do not listen to their employees. I was always looking over my shoulder and found the owners lived by double standards, were unethical, and dishonest. There was ABSOLUTELY NO loyalty to anyone but to themselves regardless of how much you work. They hire interns from France for programming and it was sad. They treated them worse than us and you can see the sadness in their faces. It is unfortunate they are stuck in suck an environment for 6-12 months on work visas. However, you are not, so unless you are completely desperate, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Pros

Decent location. There's a coffee machine?

Cons

Company leadership is the most dysfunctional of any company I've ever worked. In over 15 years. The CEO seems like a harmless eccentric during the interview process, but after a few weeks of employment, you will learn he is literally the Angel of Death. He will instruct you to do specific activities and then question you on *why* you did them. You will start to feel "crazy." When I worked there, 4 people had been in my position over the previous 2 years....I know, should have listened to that huge red flag. I don't even list this job on my resume. I'd honestly rather let potential employers think I was jobless than share I worked here. Search out "Metadot" - that's who you're really working for.
