Pros

Consistent fast growing co. With centralized mgmt. Stable, laid back

Cons

Women do not get promoted at this company. They will tell you that you are going to be next to be promoted, but then they give it to a guy

Pros

I worked in the former Griffin Industries building as a customer service representative. Everything was great at first. Catered lunch, flexible hours, thorough training, good coworkers. Griffin was a place I was proud to work at. Which is why it pains me to write in the con section.

Cons

At first the work was compensated fairly, then they started adding more responsibilities, taking advantage us. Once Griffin was bought out by this company, employees were not treated the same. Griffin was focused on customer service and quality. Employees were taken care of well. Once we hit the new year, our Irving boss who oversaw my department was flown out from Texas to Kentucky just to lay off my whole department with absolutely no notice (they made the decision 2 weeks prior). We were instructed to return our badges, not to touch our computers, and to leave. My opinion of this company went from very high to extremely low. If it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone else who works there.

Pros

Legacy benefits and payroll are adequate. Structured health insurance options that are affordable. Above average pay for hourly and salary positions.

Cons

Since the purchase of Valley Proteins in May of 2022, Employees are leaving across the company at an alarming rate. Some divisions / departments have 100% turnover. Not uncommon to see break rooms / common areas with 10 or more job postings on any given week. The culture and morale for the remaining employees are very poor. Almost any one I talk to at the company are in fear every day of losing their job from layoffs / consolidations. They feel there is no future and no job security / stability. The "survivors" from VP legacy operations, across all employee titles from regular hourly to salaried management fear everyday that "today is the day".
