Pros

Direct managers were always great. Free food and drinks was nice.

Cons

Long hours and hard work for very little pay. Expected to take client calls and work home with you.

Poor MGMT and Severe Lack of Communication

Pros

The benefits are great, when you can use them. Managers don't allow you to use your time off (or they give you a hard time), even if you have it, so getting to the doctor or taking a vacation is nearly impossible. Pay is average, definitely not as much as most agencies.

Cons

Poor management and little to no communication regarding company policies, benefit policies, and job performance. Management will blind-side you, telling you how great you are doing while planning your firing behind your back. Management will not support you in any way. Client makes all the rules and pretty much owns your life, while management bends over backwards to please them in any and every way, at your expense. Client relations and expectations are unattainable and unrealistic. You are expected to work every single day, checking your phone and working on weekends, at weddings, while sick, etc.

Pros

Smart, competent and creative people in the middle. Not the worst place (culturally speaking) that I have ever worked.

Cons

Don't let the fun/hip decor of the office fool you. They're a one-trick dinosaur. Leadership is living in 1987 and doesn't have a firm grasp on what's happening or important in (direct marketing) today. Still clinging to the antiquated "account service" team model where account supervisors/managers simply waitress clients requests rather than providing thought leadership and/or strategic creative leadership. And speaking of creative leadership - now that the former CCO is gone - is an empty chair at best... ineffectual and incapable of creative abstract thinking or true creative leadership. Instead just parroting what has been recently read from someone else's twitter feed. But the PRIMARY con is the leadership at the top who have no vision, does not value or engage the competent people they have and allows the tail to wag the dog.
