Pros

It's a paycheck if you can't find work elsewhere. Keep in mind that many "Pro" reviews on glassdoor for DLC are internal staff and recruiters trying to inflate DLC's overall rating. Their reviews are blatant marketing ploys to offset negative reviews.

Cons

DLC's a horrible place to work, avoid at all costs. They treat their consultants like disposable commodities. They don't care what consultants think about projects and engagement in terms of strategic fit or what's best for the client. They've hired many managing dirs & client service reps with little or no practical experience in accounting and finance, so they don't understand and appreciate what projects require, what clients needs are and what the actual work entails. So clients and consultants beware, there's a culture of ignoring client and consultant needs at the expense of both client and consultants just for the sake of generating billable hours. They're often placing a consultant on an engagement only to have the consultant replaced within a short matter of time as they don't meet the needs of the client. For prospective consultants, you're better off working for Accretive Solutions, RGP, Robert Half or Goetzman Group where they treat their consultants like valued employees. Turnover at DLC is quite high due to extremely low consultant morale, which the company ignores. Their highest priority is billable hours, everything else falls far behind.

Pros

Perception in the market place that DLC offers higher caliber talent

Cons

-Temp firm - Not a consulting firm -Management will try to hamstring you come contract time to protect their bonuses because managing directors are sales professionals and not true consultants -They use the production bonus (which is really overtime hours) as a sales pitch and then use it as a tool to negotiate against you if contract renewal is at a slow time (i.e. they say they won't pay your production bonus unless you do what they want). Pretty sure it is illegal to pay overtime consistently across the company and then say you are not going to pay overtime (excuse me, "production bonus") at contract negotiation time, that may backfire if anyone every calls them on it with the labor board -Engagements are truly temp in nature and hit or miss. If the engagement is horrible and you indicate you are looking for more interesting work they always say it is a "bad time". Clients can treat consultants poorly and DLC will do nothing but tell the consultant to stay put because they are collecting massive margins. -Oh yeah, if you get a client continually extended they collect the checks and you have to fight with them for your business development bonus. If you don't get the client extended the sales professionals act like something is wrong with you for not doing their job for them. -Career advancement is not realistic unless you create the opportunity.

Pros

No positives regarding working there. No pros at all.

Cons

Do not get involved with DLC, they treat consultants like temps. They are not concerned with consultants opinions or having consultants address any concerns or risks with projects. All they are concerned with is getting a body in a seat and billing hours. I worked there for several years and I can attest to a complete lack of ethics when it comes to running the business as well as a complete lack of accountability internally within the DLC ranks, from incompetent managing directors, to HR all the way to CEO. I can in no way endorse this company nor recommend working there.
