Pros

If you are a client, you're in for some great work at a highly competitive price. If you work here then you will be intellectually stimulated by the briefs through the doors and the sense of comradery that comes with a busy pace and some sky high expectations. You will also get a Mac and some nice coffee.

Cons

If you work here, you're in for a really tough and often exhausting ride. You will learn at an exceptional pace as mentioned above but this will often be of your own volition with little expertise passed down from the top top level. There is always the pressure to win new business based on the ad-hoc business model. This isn't unique to the industry but what is unique is that you are made to feel that the success of salaries being paid lies squarely on your shoulders. The burden of this would be doable if you felt appreciated but sadly you are not. You are disposable and if mistakes happen (which they will as you'll burn out) you are made to feel like you have directly let people down. This creates a fear and striving culture and I'm now certain it's purposefully done to try and get people to give everything over. But this is completely irresponsible. People burn out within 9 months and this is then spin doctored. If you do want to work here then have a get out plan up your sleeve after a year.

Pros

Some nice people work here. I got to work for a big TV brand. As someone else said, the coffee is nice sometimes, and the morning events they do have some nice attendees.

Cons

There are now currently only six or seven people who have worked here longer than two years. In a company of 30, that should raise extreme alarm bells. The 'people' page on the company website changes almost weekly it seems, and I notice that people who have left are still on the website, appearing as current employees - to bolster the numbers no doubt. I don't think senior management will ever wake up to the very real and toxic issues that this company faces - primarily because they are the reason that these issues exist in the first place. At this point I'd advise any potential employee to skip this one - you will settle into a routine of overwork and underpay, with expectations of you that are simply impossible to fulfill. The shiny veneer quickly gives way. Reading through everything here, I find myself a little shocked at the response by management to the issues raised. Cut and paste responses to genuine and well thought out reviews? Attempting to weave a narrative of misogyny? I am aware that more than half of the negative reviews here have been left by extremely competent women - so that argument doesn't stand really, does it. Sooner rather than later, the research industry will wake up and realise how this company operates.

Pros

A handful of highly intelligent and hard-working employees made the job tolerable at times. The office is a nice space - loads of great places to eat and drink in the area. We had a lot of exciting clients to work for. Great place to work if you like attending leaving drinks.

Cons

Senior management are extremely blinkered as to how overworked their employees are. There are very few support systems in place and the turnover of staff is frankly abysmal. Whilst the clients were some of the biggest I've ever worked with, the actual deliverables were most often poor due to the pressure placed on everyone to hit deadlines, and we lost a lot of clients because of this. There is no HR department and as a result it is impossible to challenge anything or request that anything be reviewed. Crowd DNA prides itself on the supposed culture that it fosters, but speak to any recent former employee and they will paint a very different picture.

Crowd DNA Response

We’re concerned at the sudden explosion of negative reviews in such a short period of time; also that someone is going to the trouble to send messages to new starters at Crowd DNA, via Instagram DM, recommending they look at Glass Door and that they don’t work for us. We fear this is a somewhat orchestrated attack against a small company that many of us love working for. As for any company of our size HR in-house is very rare. However, we do seek professional HR advice on an ad-hoc basis and grievance procedures are outlined in our staff handbook. Of course people leave, but calling our turnover abyssal is an exaggeration. Team members that have left Crowd DNA have gone on to have successful careers and many are now client side and have become our clients or started working with us as freelancers. We have a good relationship with past colleagues apart from very few isolated cases. I’m grateful and proud of all present and past Crowd DNA team members and what we’ve achieved together over the years. Look up the experience of our senior team at Crowd DNA, I think the diversity of backgrounds and competencies speaks for itself. If you want to work for an employer that gives people opportunities to grow, get in touch! To ad to that we’ve had our best result ever at Crowd this year, including many returning clients and repeat business. That does not mean we can’t get better though, of course we can and will.
