Pros

Lots to learn about cable and internet installation and trouble shooting. Sometimes you meet really nice customers.

Cons

Dumping lazy techs work on others when you are on your way home, dispatch has no concept of managing schedules, disrespectful verbally abusive managers, little to no recognition for hard work and dedication. Do not waste your time with this company. You will waste your gas, time, and sanity. They do not offer insurance, you get screwed out of pay for jobs that take hours, and no one, including your direct supervisor cares.

Pros

This company will assign you a company vehicle, and a set of basic tools. The best part of this job is that you get to meet new people daily, and work on your own.

Cons

Work 6 days a week, no paid holidays, dangerous climbing 20-35ft poles, poor training, working in attic, working in crawl space, no breathing masks, and being attacked by dogs, possums, snakes, rats, and other animals. You are rated by a Quality Assurance program that doesn't work, and it will lower your scores, which directly affects how much you get paid. Also, if a customer doesn't know how to use a device (like a DVR, or how to log onto wifi) and they call three weeks later, it causes you to fail your "Customer Satisfaction" requirement, which they will doc your pay. I think this is not a good company to invest your time in. I have worked for several companies and this was the most stressful, and lowest paying by far. They pay a minimum wage for the first 30 days, and then will pay about $10 per hour after. The only way to make any money at this job is by having years of experience, and working incredibly fast. This job is very physically demanding, and I lost 30 lbs in 9 months (I didn't lose the weight by choice, but rather from very strenuous work and not having time to eat during the work day). This job is also seasonal, so it will be very busy during summer, but very slow before and after the holidays, many days I was just sent home due to lack of work. This company has an incredibly high turn over rate, someone quits every week, so they are always hiring.
