Pros

If your just out of college, this would be a great place to get started in IT sales. As long as you go into the job knowing that only about 50% of what is promised is true, and that you'll need to operate away from the toxic culture, you'll be fine. Just plan to stay 1 or 2 years and leave and you will be fine.

Cons

The fake positive reviews on here are laughable. Stop it. You're embarrassing yourself. Anybody whose spent 5 minutes on here can tell you are writing fake reviews. There is a cult of sales here. Everything revolves around sales. Sales are the most important thing to everyone. Customer service, HR, Cloud desk, services, marketing, accounting - if you work anywhere but sales you are unimportant and so is the work that you do. And you will be reminded often that this is a sales organization. Bullying is rampant at the manager level. That's because it's learned from the highest up leadership. There is a persistent pattern of mistreatment that causes very deep emotional harm. To not get bullied you will need to keep your head down and keep quite. Memorize sales goals and make a poster for your desk that shows your support for sales even if you don't work in sales. Anything that is discussed that is not directly related to sales revenue is just a half harted attempt to pretend that people matter. Trust no one. Trusting anyone will open you to be a target for the mobbing that happens routinely when a weak person is identified. If you complain or even try to push back you will be fired or the bullying will be increased so that you will quit. Come into the office every day. Show your loyalty buy coming in and sitting at a desk regardless of the fact that you could be infected by those who don't want to wear a mask or get vaccinated. Get to the office an hour early and leave an hour late every day. Just sit at your desk and make cold calls to whatever your sales territory is this week. This is one of the only ways to prove that you are a dedicated employee. If you can show people that you work 10 hours a day you will be a very hard worker. If you do not appear to be working 10 hours a day you will be gossiped about and then bullied by your manager until you leave. You should schedule all your doctors appointments on weekends if you can so that you don't ever have to look like you are not in the office. If you are a minority of any type. Life will be hard for you. You can only be successful here if you can rise above the toxic workplace, put in a ton of hours to prove your dedication, and don't give in to the back-stabbing, ruthless competition and the fact that your boss will never see you as a person. You will only ever be seen as a way to make money.

We pride ourselves on being a sales-oriented company, but that is only enabled by the hard work all lines of businesses contribute to the success of our customers. We absolutely value Cloud desk, Customer service, HR, Marketing, Accounting, and all other departments in Crayon US. We have shown flexibility in our hybrid work offering and loosened this even more as of late. Safety for our employees is one of our top concerns. We have implemented stringent safety measures for the office and are following local health ordinances, including working with everyone to ensure they feel safe. We take reports of bullying very seriously. Crayon has channels in place to escalate these concerns; including your manager, Human Resources, and our anti-harassment hotline and we have re-shared this contact information with employees. We encourage you to utilize these channels to report any concerns. We are saddened to hear about your experience thus far at Crayon. We are committed to ensuring all employees are treated fairly and have an excellent experience.

Pros

The group in Europe is solid. Good leadership from them on the few times we interacted with them. Also a lot of good people in the US, although many of them have quit & moved on to other opportunities.

Cons

The culture is unbelievably toxic, and US management is 100% at fault. Morale is terrible. Motivating through negative inputs and micromanagement rules the day. There's a pervading fear of retaliation in the rank & file for speaking up on what's broken. Literally no plan from management for hitting your number - just managing whatever KPIs are the flavor of the day...and they do seem to change daily. It's a textbook example of taking a potentially fun & profitable environment, and driving it straight into the ground through poor leadership.
