Pros

Bayer is a world leader in polyurethanes, polycarbonates, and coatings. It has superior technical knowledge and support. It has many people who are willing and able to support each other, and a very team oriented environment... in general. Pay scales and benefits are consistent with industry averages,

Cons

Bayer MaterialScience continues to have difficulty defining its path forward and, as is the case with many very large organizations, is slow to capitalize on opportunities and, occasionally, too slow to communicate changes in direction down its ranks. This can be frustrating. Also, on the sub-organizational level, directors and managers can be controlling to their own ends rather than the benefit of the corporation, and often to the detriment of the corporation.

Horrible culture and management

Pros

Free parking, some decent people

Cons

Horrible “managers”, HR managers in positions of authority because of their personal relationships and not their experience. Culture focuses on innovation yet the management is too egotistical to realize where the real problems are. Certain pet employees of upper management are rewarded and promoted for their yes master attitude while those who work hard are overlooked.

Although your words are certainly not the ones we’d most like to hear, we think it’s important to gain insights from all perspectives. As you indicate that you are current (and longtime) employees, we’d love the opportunity to talk more with about your specific concerns, and to work with you to find ways to address them.
