Pros

been here close to a year and don't see any pros other than getting a salary at the end of every month

Cons

very long working hours, low salary, nearly all departments completely understaffed, IT systems very poorly integrated, people demotivated as many brands lost identity following multiple merges LACK OF VISION and INSPIRATION THAT FEEDS FROM TOP TO MIDDLE MANAGEMENT. People getting sacked for stupid reasons. Lack of professionalism everywhere you look!

Thank you for taking time to leave a review, sorry that you feel this way regarding the above concerns. With regards to the working hours, salary etc the recent Engagement Survey that took placed showed us that these are the areas that we are to improve on to ensure employee satisfaction which is working progress. Our IT systems are in the process of being upgraded which will allow for us a smoother running of the systems which we use. With regards to being understaffed, all departments are looking at structures which should hopefully only be a temporary situation we are in. I would advise that you notify your line manager of these concerns, or if you have any other queries we would also invite you to contact a member of the People team that you could discuss this further with. Kind Regards, Countrywide Talent Acquisition Team

Pros

It once was a great business that owned the estate agency market but those days are long gone, no pros left unless you are desperate for work

Cons

Too many to name, just look and the reduction in this businesses share price. A lot of extremely good estate agents worked for Countrywide’s brands for years only to be discarded like old shoes. A.Platt and her senior team of mates drawing extortionate salaries and laying off lifetime careers with no soul present. No estate agency talent left. Will all end soon but with the very few at the top becoming / increasingly millionaires. Disgracefully run company

We are really sorry you feel this way about us and we are always open to hearing feedback. We really do value experience in all our lines of business including estate agency, but we also recognise we can learn from other sectors so we encourage people from many industries to consider bringing their talents and experience to us . In a world where customers’ expectations are rising every day we feel we’re building a strong mix of people with a common purpose of delivering for Countrywide customers .

Pros

Face to face customer environment allows the opportunity to build good rapport. Improved structured training in the last 12 months.

Cons

No option to do telephone or remote appointments really limits the opportunity to do good levels of business. A constant focus on sales figures and micro management. This is a company with a lot of opportunity if only it would evolve with the rest of the industry and join the 21st Century.
