Pros

Flexible scheduling, good potential for fast typists and those who can maximize shortcuts.

Cons

Minimum production goals a bit high for most average typists to maintain. At only 20 hours a week, I started flaring with carpal tunnel way before hitting their minimum production goals to start receiving raises. Some indication it has changed since then, but they also provided very little leeway for shift break / lunch breaks - if going to the bathroom took longer than 5 minutes, you were automatically clocked out for a 15-minute time period, having to then work longer to cover your minimum work time agreed to that day.

Thank you for your honest feedback! We are pleased to see that you enjoyed our unparalleled flexibility during your time working in our Tallahassee office, and that you recognized the potential for increased pay for those who improve their stats. I'm sorry to hear that you were suffering from carpal tunnel symptoms that may have kept you from being able to hit production. That can happen, and this job certainly is not for everyone. We try to offer advice on how to balance out adequate speed and physical comfort via taking enough breaks, ergonomical equipment, and using the most macros you can. I am also pleased to tell you that the Tallahassee office has recently rolled out changes to the break policy to make it much more flexible for everyone. Should you be interested in resuming scribe work in the future, the management team there will happily fill you in on the new and improved break system! Thank you again for the time you spent with us and for your helpful review. We wish you all the best with your future endeavors!

Pros

Choose your own hours to suffer

Cons

Literally everything. You can’t talk, can’t have your phone, can’t take a bathroom break without logging off for 30 minutes. It’s nonstop work for minimum wage. Their turnover is ridiculous.

Thank you for your honest feedback. We're sorry to hear that your time working with us left you with such a negative view of the company. Let's discuss your complaints. The pro you listed was that you are able to make your own schedule, which is what draws most people to this job. That very flexibility addresses a recurring complaint in your review. No one is forced to work nonstop, because they have the ability to adjust their schedule to include breaks. While on break, employees certainly can talk among themselves, but due to the nature of transcribing, employees must pay attention to their audio for the sake of speed and accuracy. Phones are not allowed at stations due to our commitment to providing total privacy and security for our customers, however phones can be used on breaks outside of the production room. Every manager has the ability to offer leniency on the break policy within reason, on a case-by-case basis. Lastly, we offer very clear cut and transparent Enhanced Pay metrics so that everyone has the opportunity to earn up to $13/hour.

Pros

Flexible schedule, very convenient for students and young people. Lots of bonuses and production incentives result in decent pay. Great people

Cons

It's just a part time job - no benefits, minimum room for advancement. It's also kinda boring.
