Pros

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Lots of interesting opportunities to apply your skills to (in Plymouth). Main manufacturing in Gaylord, MN is stable, capable, and the environment is clean. Above average IT dept that provides decent hardware and software support for employees.

Cons

Resources such as time, money, and office space are slim. The culture is still focused on placing blame, versus process-centered. Most problem solving is still viewed as creative rather than analytical. which promotes trial-and-error approaches, and diminishes fact-based decision making.

Bottom 20% Work

Pros

Enjoyable coworkers. Access to lots of tribal knowledge. Assemblers really know their stuff.

Cons

I worked here for 1 year right after college and didn't realize how bad things were until I left. Low salary, benefits, and 401k match. I later saw that pay is about 30% below the average for that type of work. My manager(s) changed constantly and I was stuck reporting the same things over and over to multiple people.

Pros

Many great colleagues with a wealth of knowledge and experience Sometimes interesting work

Cons

Poor pay Poor benefits Poor health and dental insurance Low 401k match Unfocused management The facility is old, the computers you're expected to use for work are very old, and you often don't have access to what you need Managers are far more interested in doing things the way they've always been done versus using ingenuity
