Pros

The technicians, from TC to RH to Media, were all wonderful people who welcomed and supported me as a new hire.

Cons

1). Lack of Sterility: while the TC lab is packed with hoods, the company never actually cared about contamination rates. In fact, the technicians with large contamination rates were actively applauded by the company for “making numbers,” even if majority of those tissue cultures cuts are heavily contaminated with bacteria and fungus. 2). Terrible Management: the managing team at first informed me that they would review my numbers consistently, which simply never happened. Second, on of the managers would divulge extremely private information about other employees to technicians unannounced, which is clearly a violation of privacy. Also, one of the managers guaranteed that if we met the SOP consistently during a week we would not be terminated, only to be blindsided by termination within less then a week. It’s obvious that the management team are a team of yes men rather that a group of people that know what they’re doing. 3). Ignored carpel tunnel issues that majority of TC technicians were suffering from: The inadequacies advanced further as they promised an ergonomic professional to come in to help us, which never happened. 4). Lack of Respect for Technicians: TC techs were aware of the rampant contamination issues and carpel tunnel pains of the lab. They would actively bring up concerns to management to solve the issue, only to be met with apathy and shot down by the management team. It was blatantly apparent that they did not respect our concerns whatsoever. Management and board were also frustrating in regards to dealing with cases of sexual harassment. Rather than immediately placing them on leave, CN had no issue allowing abusers to continue working there and further disrespect others. Only until the harassment got so severe was when abusers were terminated. 5). Lack of Transparency: Most of the people that got fired were never addressed nor explained to the team why they were terminated. Two employees were let go due to sexual harassment, yet management never addressed it. Instead, they intimidated us from trying to investigate and finding out why ____ got fired. 6). Unfair Compensation: Some techs were consistently given extra duties on top of being a TC Technician, yet their pay was never adjusted for the amount of extra work they took on. Management abused this consistently and got away with it as they intimidated us into fear. 7). Intimidation Tactics: there were too many times during our team huddle that intimidation factors were used to either silence us, scare us into behaving, even going as far as forcing us to hide any negative emotions.

Pros

Some of the coworkers were cool before they started firing people without any warning

Cons

-It is not a lab. There is no science/R&D department at this facility. You wear a labcoat to sit for 7.5 hours and cut plants. -ZERO LEADERSHIP. You can tell every person in management never had to lead an actual team, just a workforce of yes-men. -Hours of non-stop, hands on, work. Constantly being watched over like you’re a teenager. -If you are injured on the job good luck because management really does not care. -The only employees getting promotions are the ones literally sniffing management’s bootyholes. -Employees doing loads of hard work behind the scenes get no recognition other than a corny shout out/bro fist in the morning huddle.

Pros

The people are great, some of the best people I ever got to work with so far.

Cons

There is a clear lack of communication and disconnect between management and production. Management is more concerned about numbers than workers' safety. They have ramped up goals without having proper ergonomic processes for technicians. People are sustaining serious and chronic damage to their bodies for minimal recognition. The company is understaffed and constantly asks people to go above and beyond their pay grade. If they could make you go in on Saturdays to work, I think they would. They sell you on work culture but work culture is deteriorating as well. People who have been there the longest have been told that they could move into research, but that is no longer happening. There is not much room for career growth or opportunity to move up.
