Pros

Great benefits and a handful of good people.

Cons

Where do I start? So much to say... The companies culture is strange to say the least. Especially after the acquisition of the recent COO. The COO is literally a thug in business attire. His demeanor says it all. He will be the reason for the companies demise if he isn’t removed. I unfortunately worked for a SVP that has no real idea on how to strategically deliver a program and when things go wrong, this man has no problem throwing you under the bus and blaming you for the bad planning that he probably threw together in 10 minutes or less. His competence in program execution and deliverance is definitely questionable after what I saw and experienced. Trust in management is a big issue because you don’t know how they’ll use it against you if you confide in them and they don’t personally like you. It’s so true about the turnover at this place. Within the short year I was there, I witnessed the nicest people either be replaced or watched them voluntarily leave because of the unsatisfactory and toxic work environment they were experiencing. I was promised so much and received so little in return. They completely changed the game plan on me after a few months of working there on what I was promised and be advised that the Achieve team is notorious for throwing last minute, poorly planned and managed projects on your lap. And guess who gets the blame if they don’t work out? You will. Poor upper and middle management/communication/planning skills is rampant at this organization. Part of their mission is to provide a stable home but they offer programs with false hope and they let people fall so far behind in their rent, they eventually and frequently get evicted. Instead of being on top of it and getting the residents set up to stay in their homes they lose their homes due to poorly managed programs and property management. I’m surprised auditing hasn’t caught up with them yet. It’s sad to see a few great people get trapped in the dogma of a toxic environment. One more thing, your voice doesn’t count no matter what you have proven to bring to the table in the past from previous employment. You become a threat at this point if you do. People, think thoroughly before you become a victim of this shady “organization.”

Pros

Hardworking, passionate and dedicated staff members, great benefits. The culture used to be great and inspiring.

Cons

The best and hardworking employees get treated like they are worth less. No matter all the hard work, dedication and effort that you put in, if they don't like you or if you are not part of their agenda, then don't expect to grow. This nonprofit used to be a great organization. Unfortunately, Senior Management, especially the CEO and the CFO have changed it all. During my tenure, I got to see many great employees get booted out. Poor employee morale, employees feeling unappreciated. You can't trust management, they won't ever have your back!

Pros

Many good, caring, smart employees. Nice apartments. Good property management.

Cons

Constant overtime. Always in planning mode. Poor board oversight. Too many good people gone in a short time due to frustration with work load.
