Pros
Though rough around the edges, the students are the best part of the job. This is certainly a place where you can make a difference in a child's life. Many of them have no positive adult role models, and the experience of meeting teachers who can connect to them could be the spark that makes them realize the importance of education.
Cons
* Administration is completely out of touch. They are exactly what is wrong with the movement to corporatize education, olely focused on the bottom line and renewing the contract * Hours are longer than public schools. * Pay is slightly lower than average, especially if you have advanced degrees. There are no steps for more experienced teachers
