This was warned, but it's a grind. You're dialing random companies all day asking those if they have accounts that need to be cleared up. Typically, a company would handle this stuff figured out so you're really trying to find sucker companies that don't know what to do or you ambush them at the right time.
Your basic game was dial a number - possibly outsmart the receptionist and try to get sent to the Financial Controller - who was typically never ever there. Can't leave voicemails because hey it's a cold call. When you do talk to a decision person then you get a little further in your script during which they can hear your sales pitch through and through and just wait for that split second to say no and hang up.
One of the managers has what seems to be an unstable personality who can often yell while you're on the phone with a potential person. Even if you're doing it correctly.
The product they have is pretty cool - PI's getting bad debt collected would be grossly profitable, but it's a product very little people want and those more established companies already have their territory cut out.
Timing - it's all about who you called, when you called and what you said - there's been times where their AGS statements have offended some people and others don't know what you're doing
There probably aren't very many career advancements, but lateral seemed possible.
Everything is monitored - it's telemarketing the most hated and despised profession on both sides of the line and you're asking people for accounts they themselves can't clean up. Good lucky luck. The amount of calls you make, how long, what you said, what you could say differently,
I don't doubt that there isn't money to be made but there are many other professions that will pay you steadily for the same amount - thankfully i was founded through an agency
