Pros

The teams are comprised of some really cool people. They are fun, talented, and extremely helpful. Most will go out of their way to help you understand things or pick up some slack where you may need assistance.

Cons

- Upper management chooses to take on way too much work from clients at the expense of its employees. This decision seems to be caused by the fear that if they do not please their all-powerful client then the client will leave. This causes too much work for employees to keep up. They either work themselves to the bone or let the quality of work fail. - While overtime is not an everyday occurrence it happens in multi-month bursts which is more than enough to burn everyone out - Upper management will not defend its employees from the client when they are being completely unprofessional (name-calling, yelling, pointing fingers) - Upper management has a big micromanagement problem. It wasn't uncommon for the engineers to get code reviews from the #2 in the company. - Management uses passive-aggressive language to communicate with employees over text. - Punishments for mistakes are sometimes done in a group setting which is simply unacceptable. (Multiple employees have cried over this and have disclosed to me that it is one of the main reasons for them leaving) - People are given increased responsibilities (like team tech lead) but are not compensated for it. - Day to day tasks often do not match the job title/description. - Burnout on a company scale so bad that most engineers with more than a year at the company left in the last 6 months.

Pros

- competitive base salary - decent benefits - team and coworkers are all very talented - get to work with Facebook technologies

Cons

- no room for long term growth - consulting work means that you have to sacrifice for dead lines - sometimes work-life-balance can be bad - total compensation isn't too competitive - company reorganizes often and doesn't try to hold onto senior talent

Pros

- Small company making big impact for big companies (Facebook, Oculus, and more) - Extremely collaborative & flat atmosphere, no politics/blame games - Competitive pay and benefits - Great company culture - Great work/life balance - "crunch times" with extra hours are very rare. Management respects employees' personal lives. - Laguna Hills location is amazing, wide variety of nice places to live nearby - Environment and management that facilitates and encourages learning - Flexible work schedule - occasional remote work while traveling or working on a weekend to make up for missing a weekday - CEO is an open-minded engineer and clearly values all employees' talents and opinions - Very good job security - Codazen continuously receives more offers for work than they can take on - Lots of room for moving between different projects and programming languages - Opportunity to do technical interviews of new candidates

Cons

- Could have more snack options but this has been improving - Career path for a better title is unclear but management is aware and this too has been improving
