Pros

Hours are flexible, so it fits alongside my University schedule. It provides enough material and support that I felt confident going into this role without much teaching experience. I have been tutoring for a year and have gained more teaching experience than placements alone have given me.

Cons

Cancellations are frequent and income is varied. This role works best for supplemental income alongside a more reliable source of income. This is because students often cancel their sessions. Also, I have had assigned students taken off my roster after I changed my availability, even if I am still available at their time.
