Pros

Engagement with member companies, NGOs, etc who are doing interesting things; networking; polished events; staff who are largely there for well intended reasons (although many senior staff artificially thinking they work for the actual White House);

Cons

Horribly managed; CEO needs to move on after 9 years. Doesn't have a strategy for organization which has so much potential, and now that public-private partnerships are more mainstream. Directors with no management experience and play favorites and protect each other, anti-meritocracy and accountability. Worst staff morale I've ever experienced, very sad. More and more member companies seeing behind the surface don't want to keep paying $20,000 for annual membership when attitude internally is "just do the minimum" necessary to keep members renewing, when there's so much more potential for real engagement. Not enough of the Clintons to go around to keep everyone, or members, happy. Poor pay, raises and bonuses basically negligible. "Campaign" work environment re CEO verbally says he doesn't care if people leave because there are plenty others dying to work there, so no investment in staff professional development or accountability of bad managers. Only those who are blindly loyal get promoted, which only makes management and morale worse. Members dropping out now is going to make hiring freeze turn into layoffs and hopefully major management changes soon enough.

Pros

Great network, globally-minded colleagues, fun work atmosphere, fast-pace, great benefits

Cons

Sometimes leadership roles are held by those who seem unqualified (many of which have only worked at CGI their entire careers), low pay, high turnover rates, and certain departments tend to micromanage their employees
