Despite decent pay, incentives (gift cards and apparel), and a supportive direct manager, Chrysalis Center's mission is a façade.

Cons

Chrysalis Center parades as a nonprofit but is blatantly money focused. Their Freshplace food pantry has absurd eligibility requirements, forcing clients to work while also being available during working hours for case management services. This makes it nearly impossible to help the "up to 100 families" they claim and leads to significant food waste. Executives prioritize real estate over clients, creating a toxic work environment with high turnover. Subpar conditions persist, with little support for staff and ineffective responses to employee concerns.

Good pay for a non profit and good benefits.

Cons

CEO and Executive Assistant are the biggest bullies you will ever meet. If they decide they don’t like you, look out! Extremely toxic work environment and high turnover and they blame everyone but themselves. Awful culture where everyone is miserable.
