Pros

Not a lot of pros these days. It’s just a matter of time folks before the doors close on this country club.

Cons

This company is desperate. The recent rollout of retention bonuses is a clear sign that the company is in major trouble. The worst part is, not everyone is entitled to the bonuses, essentially showing who the important people are to the company and who are clearly not! There are no products on the horizon that will save this company.

Pros

- Great technology - Fun people

Cons

During Covid-19 Christie was hit hard. The UK office was almost completely furloughed. In the Canadian office staff were required to work 4-day weeks; production was cut in half and laid off. In the US, people were either permanently laid off, temporarily laid off, or required to be furloughed one week a month for at least the past three months. During this time, the company decided to promote several people from Managers to Directors; from Directors to Senior Directors; from Vice Presidents to Executive Vice Presidents. With promotions come raises. During a period of time when the company is struggling with sales, laying people off, or furloughing them, they decide to promote people and give them raises. They talk about how much they care about employees, but actions like this prove the contrary. This has been going on for the better part of the last five years. The company has completely lost it's culture and values. No matter what Senior Management says about "OneChristie"; it DOES NOT EXISIT. You can make suggestions until you are blue it the face, no one will listen - or it never makes it past your direct manager.

Pros

-Lots of caring, competent people doing their best, and still wanting to improve. -Free parking (and lots of it) -Satisfactory work-life balance -On-site gym and fitness programs

Cons

-Poor employee morale. -Few people of colour, women, or people under 50 in leadership positions. Layoffs also tend to impact these demographics more than white men. -Vacation time is minimal. -Top-heavy -Disfunctional executive management that: *is tone-deaf *is afraid of change *is unable to implement changes beyond layoffs, management restructure, or hiring consultants *micromanages *says one thing then do another *ignores feedback from middle-management *doesn't communicate *clearly has no plan for recovery *is penny wise, pound foolish -Raises/bonuses are extremely rare, even with stellar employee reviews and increased responsibility over time. We're talking two raises in 11 years, one of which was a cost of living increase. They've stopped doing reviews for precisely this reason.
