Pros

China Development Bank is the largest policy bank in China. It has branches in each and every provices. Being an employee in CDB, you can work with colleagues graduted from top university all over the world, e.g. PKU, TSU, and even IVY LEAGUE students. Both your mentor and leader will be very nice and smart, and you can definitely learn a lot from them. What's more, CDB focus on giant deals, and they are always under staff so you can expect rapid growth there. For instance, in your first year, you may construct loan amount to billions with your mentor. You don't need to carry other's bag, and they treat you like veteran from the first day. The salary is not bad, enough for a decent life in the city you are living, and the work-life balance is fine, you don't need work until exhausted like IBD.

Cons

Well, I have to say the payment is lower than the value of employees, and the improvement path is clear but not very smooth. Also, you can't do what you can but only do what you've been told.

Pros

Good salary, welfare, and opportunities for junior level positions compared to other commerical banks in China. Have a lot of chances to get involved with governments and large SOEs.

Cons

A long process to get promoted. Work load is extremely heavy for junior positions, endless overtime work. Too many travels.
