Pros

- Decent pay - Fully remote - It’s public accounting, so working long hours is expected.

Cons

- Extreme policy on utilization rate just because the rate on Director/Senior Manager level dropped significantly during Q1 last year, so they are on everyone’s back about this but problem is all managers have their favorite people to work with, so some people would get tons of work while others sitting on the bench. Last year, I had a medical emergency so I needed the PTOs, therefore, my utilization rate has dropped a bit, and I clearly communicated that with management but I guess they only looked at my accrued PTOs and dropping utilization rate, so as a result, they terminated me right before thanksgiving while I was still sick. And of course, my medical insurance got cut off so I needed to pay out of pocket for the medical bills. - Unclear performance review method and ratings, I received all positive feedbacks from the project managers I worked with but yet, I got terminated just because the utilization rate dropped. - Unclear way to find resources to achieve your objectives. Or if you’ve ever found something, templates are outdated and all the training links don’t even work. - Unclear communication, it happened a few times the people that I worked with will disappear all of a sudden, later on, I would be told that they were being terminated, therefore, I would have to pick up all their work while having a full week schedule, which messes up the planning of the week. - Staffing is a mess. Number of hours and clients are never accurate. So you would never be able to rely on your working schedule.

Pros

Work from home, competitive pay for some roles, great teams to work with (not most partners).

Cons

CB has shifted drastically since the PE began calling the shots around here. Multiple rounds of layoffs, constant pressure about numbers/hours, and fear tactics from firm leadership are destroying the culture of this firm. Offshoring all staff work to India and eliminating an entire generation of future tax leaders in the US in the process. Poor hiring tactics, most teams are understaffed, and partners are very demanding since they are only answering to the PE.
