      Pros

      Change Machine hires exceptional people. The largest pro is the people we work with. If you start at the bottom you can get to the top fast because people keep leaving.

      Cons

      The mental exhaustion of keeping a straight face about the state of the organization and the commitment to the staff. The expectation is that you will swallow the lies and follow blindly. Trying to do good work with limited support and resources. Large-scale projects that are not staffed properly. Having almost as many consultants as staff because priorities of staffing and direct hires are placed on the back burner. Fear that your career will be impacted and ruined by association. You will begin to check your own moral compass.

      Pros

      The benefits are amazing. Many of the staff are very talented, and great to work with. The organization was supportive of staff as they transitioned to remote work during the pandemic, and dealt with the impact of the pandemic on their lives.

      Cons

      Despite consistent feedback, leadership is uninterested in supporting their staff within their roles, leading to burnout. As a result, turnover is very high, with some staff leaving after less than a year. Goals and tasks are often unclear, in spite of the attempts of middle management.

      Pros

      Doing neat stuff with Salesforce

      Cons

      The organization has become an apparatus just to serve the CEO's ego and so she can take in almost a quarter of a million dollars in annual salary. Check the 990s. Org is run like a small family business or an Amazon warehouse, you are given no support in whatever your role is. In spite of this you can overperform and will not be rewarded. The politics are that of the TV show 'Succession' and the toxicity of the Trump Administration. Board is completely checked out and just wants the social benefits of being on a board. Not interested in actual governance or what the org's mission used to be, in assisting the working class
