A nightmare of a place to work.

Pros

The staff that you work with on the floor are very caring.

Cons

No raises for several years. Very unprofessional management staff, Management is not open to any new ideas and are more concerned about making money than they are concerned about the wellbeing of the patients. Frequent cancelling when census is low. When you request time off, you do not get it. Unethical behavior with insurance fraud that should be investigated (ie, keeping patients longer than they need to be kept inpatient and then lying to the insurance companies about the progress of the patient.) Being told to lie about bed availability when plenty of beds are available by upper management. Being forced to move patients to the "acute unit" so that A&R can say that they have no beds available, which makes the patients angry and most of the moves are inappropriate, just so the company can avoid taking an uninsured patient-which is beyond unethical and illegal. Looking for a new place to work as we speak..

Made some great friends from coworkers and able to work with your schedule.

Cons

Some of the new management is just horrible, causing high turnover in the last couple years.

Pros

Coworkers and fast paced environment

Cons

Unrealistic patient assignments 9-12 patients per nurse, no security, no support from management.. management allows multiple admits to come to the floor back to back with or without a bed being available for them, housekeeping is minimal to none, no therapeutic diets available to patients, 100% paper charting, management supports short staffing units and employees suffer.
