Disastrous Company!!

Pros

Not much comes to mind....they had a few fun company events, thats about it. The ONLY reason I gave them one star is because I had to; I would have rather left it at zero.

Cons

This place is a MESS. "Upper Management' (if that is even what you want to call it) is a complete train wreck. They have no clue what they are doing and are treated like the Golden Children. The Owners in Denver sit on their high horses and don't care about anything other than their office. The 'Southern Division' (Atlanta and San Antonio offices) were treated like redheaded step children. We would NEVER be as good as the Denver office. The only time they cared to get involved was when Atlanta had two disaster projects, and we were then messing with THEIR bonuses. Speaking of bonuses - NONEXISTENT. People that worked their butts off for that place just got walked all over. They never rewarded anyone.

Pros

Catamount Constructors was a very good company to work for, however, they owned C3 Construction Company that I was transferred over to. This company was poorly managed and they had no respect or appreciation for their field employees. Many times the field employees lived and worked 60 to 80 hour weeks in substandard conditions.

Cons

The downside of Catamount Constructors is the company is divided into civil work and Government work. Civil work was handled out of the Evergreen, Co office and the working conditions were very good and appreciative, while Government work was handled out of the Chester, Conn. office under entirely different management, C3 Construction. This company management was terrible, treated employees terrible, micro managed, scrutinized every move the field personnel made and couldn't make decisions. They didn't know how to properly manage projects, the management had no people skills. They reduced their overhead by providing substandard living and working conditions, expecting all the field staff to work and sleep in the construction office on cots.

Epic Management Failure

Pros

Payment and benefits package is excelent

Cons

Management was inept and inconsistent. the PC and PE position turned over during the project and the PM was burned out. Worst buyout and submital completion in my 12+ years. Three pay aps over 90. The PX was out of his element by committing to project milestones to the owner prior to the estimate and pre-bid without understanding the actual project resource loads and project specific constraints. To make matters worse all of the above was foisted on the field team with indifference and 'paper thin' support.
