Pros

The Associate Discount is fantastic. My store is a team-sell environment, so I enjoy being able to rely on coworkers to reach goals and complete tasks. Management is flexible when it comes to employees needing to switch shifts.

Cons

The company is going under. Their will be no raises for the 2015 year, and every week, I get email after email about people in corporate "retiring". As a result, the work environment has become depressed, frustrated, and riddled with unease. Also, regardless of what your job description is, you are expected to be everywhere: If you work shoes, you also have to take care of lingerie and handbags. If you're cosmetics, you'll be stuck as a greeter or covering shoes (where you do not make commision). As many others have said, the coupons and credit soliciting are nightmares. The pay is also terrible. I know people who have been with the company for over 10 yrs, who still make minimum wage. For all the extra responsibilities that are thrown on us, we should be compensated accordingly.

Pros

I cannot think of one single thing

Cons

If you are a person in retail who is committed to providing a great customer experience, these stores are extraordinarily frustrating. There is such little payroll available that the operational tasks have to take precedence (or there would be nothing to purchase on the sales floor). As a result, customers get a terrible experience throughout most of the store. Also, I encountered the worst leadership I've ever worked with throughout a long retail career.
