Save yourself some time and a constant headache!
Pros
The CSA's are what makes this job tolerable, controller - depends on the person, the pay is a lot for the job.
Cons
Where to begin! Within 1 year i saw 3 DP's (store managers) come into the business, I saw 2 redudancy periods, the stock levels were consistently inconsistent, over 20 stores closed and it was about 9 months of doom and gloom! The "senior" management seems to have some kind of inner circle when it comes to putting people in places of power, the only thing that matters is selling ability, in my last 2 DP's i saw no leadership abilities or qualities, they were sales sales sales. Controllers don't sing from the same hymn sheet, some really care about their customers and making sure everything is correct and ready to go, some only care about the sale and don't care about the customer, the car, the paperwork or anything else but the deal. Bad and lousy prep of a lot of vehicles leads to you being the "villain" in the customers eyes, controllers and members higher pass this to CSA's and aftersales to sort out, only getting involved if they really have to, theres no atmosphere of anyone taking responsibility for themselves. Work times, shifts and holidays, if you're a CSA, good luck! your rota will be all over the place, you'l be expected to stay as late as needed with no getting your time back, good luck with holidays, the DP's generally have no idea how to do it and it is usually input incorrectly or not even looked at, payroll have no idea what they're doing either so i wouldn't bother going to them for help, good luck if you're a controller as well, you'll be expected to go 60+ hours a week, 8-8 usually. Head office (HR and Payroll etc) THE WORST! not one of them have any idea about regulations, working and employment law, processes to follow, during both redudancy periods, HR dished out some advice to the DP's and expected them to do all the work, the one chance for HR to shine and they don't know what they're doing quite frankly, its embarrassing! There's no sense of achievement at Car Store, but this is most likely down to the management (DP and above) I think because Pendragon is slowly losing their grip, its trickling down and these people that are meant to lead have no grasp of what it takes to be inspiring, they only have a grasp on how to be threating and quite frankly a bully!
