Pros

They have some unique technologies.

Cons

Very tribal. You have to be inside the "circle" otherwise you are outside. You could be let go any minute if they do not think you are "useful" to them anymore.

Pros

Good benefits. The general work force are good people. Great sales team. They will sell you ocean front property in Arizona. They are the good. The original founders are treated very well.

Cons

The management does not respect nor appreciate there employees. They will use you up and spit you out and not loose a nights sleep over it. They have become a Company that believes in "profit now" over developing and manufacturing a stable product. In my opinion the future is not looking to bright for Calnetix. They will promise there customers the world even when they know they can never meet there obligations. Expect employees to put in 90 hours a week and still tell them there not doing enough and put you on a personnel improvement program. Yes, they do this to there top producing employees.

Pros

Variety of new projects coming in the door all the time and potentially each having a different aspect that will teach you new skills. All projects revolve around the core technologies and capabilities of the company, which are varied. The long tenured folks are generally pretty friendly, good to work with, and very competent, with minimal exceptions/ big egos. Overall, a tremendously positive experience.

Cons

It's easy to get stuck in a rut if you are not a "squeaky wheel". That is, if you demonstrate a capacity to do one mundane task or project, you might get stuck doing that for the duration of your tenure (I understand that sometimes this is necessary). Unfortunately, you have to be EXTREMELY proactive about expressing desire for new and challenging projects, almost to the point of being annoying. Management is not eager to provide outside training opportunities, although this is supposedly directly tied to revenue. My opinion is that providing opportunities for training and development should be available regardless...this helps with retention. Final note, not very competitive with compensation /bonus, based on my experience outside. Although, this could be another "squeaky wheel" situation, but I doubt it.
