No respect for the people working in practice. Staffing cuts, redundancies and lack of budget mean no nursing staff with the same amount of workload. Poorly managed in general - from higher ups and in house. Highly stressed team, workload ever-increasing with no thanks, laughable pay rises, the expectation to just grin and bear it. The pay is abysmal. The pay for newly qualified nurses is a joke. CVS have recently cracked down on ‘clutter’ and request practices ‘declutter’ which means we have been made to remove all emergency dose posters from the walls, dosage charts and anything useful is now out of arms reach. Recently a senior member of management sent out an email stating that as their nurses are so badly paid they were discontinuing their 3% over NMW scheme for their students and reception staff. This company is unrecognisable from the one I joined, it is now the epitome of corporate. Money seems to be the focus at the expense of staff wellbeing. I am not sure if they even have a stress policy, or if they have they do not take notice of it. There is still an air of bullying in the company, even though some senior ones have now been sacked (so a positive I guess)
