Pros

Easy company to come back to if you leave. Good starting point for people with zero experience and want to get their foot in the door. Does not actually check your skill set for whatever you put on your resume. A lot of the FM's and Techs are decent people to work with.

Cons

If you're on the lower end of the totem pole within the company and don't brown-nose, there's little chance for career growth or advancement. Weekly photos seem to be more important than the actual install. It just turns into an email beatdown about what you did wrong and why upper management was right. The region lacks essential equipment like sweep gear, a PIM tester, or a fusion splicer to properly do the job—yet the blame still falls on the techs who don't have the tools to perform the work. There's a lot of drama, like we're still in high school. The structure is top-heavy. At the time of writing this, in one market, there are six techs, four field managers, one construction manager, and four project managers. There's no room for existing workers to move up. There is "a ton of work" yet somehow it's a regular occurrence to fall short of 40 hours. Management encourages use of PTO if you fall short of 40 hours due to their own shortcomings. Whatever you're hired on as (pay and role) you will be locked at for a full year with no chance of change. They preach about going above and beyond in your work with the promise of a reward or a chance to move up—something that never actually happens. Managers will cut your hours if you finish a job early, even if you put your heart and soul into it, and then pocket the bonus the job earns. At most, you’ll get a pizza. (yay!)
