Pros

-Starter salary is satisfactory and if you do your job it usually goes up annually -Projects are interesting -Co-workers are very friendly and helpful if they have time -They give opportunities to graduates

Cons

(Highly dependent on the team you belong. Some of them apply on other teams and not mine) - Bad management results to periods with LONG unpaid working hours and periods with NO work at all -Upper management most of the time are disconnected with the technical aspect of things, yet they try to micromanage and have an opinion on the technical side. Sometimes there are demands that do not grasp reality -Bureaucracy associated with government -The hiring process is problematic. I have seen really charismatic people being rejected and bad employees being hired. This is a source of no trust from management for a long time after hire -Turnover rates are high, which means that there are not many skilled/experienced people to learn from. You are usually thrown in deep waters and put pressure on you to not drown. Some people do drown and it is not their fault. -You can end up working on totally different things of what you went for and were promised in the interview -Most of the holidays are fixed, so you do not have flexibility -There is a mentality of tasks and projects where a single person implements them and is responsible for. That is bad practice.

Pros

- Good salary, given the factor of the country's average. - Good step for a short period of time, if you know how to work by yourself

Cons

- The salary deposit is always late 10 days. - There is no actual organization on how a team must work. - Your salary is calculated based on a fixed number of hours. - You're a freelancer but with the obligation to work at their place - You must keep the actual working hours on a timesheet, but you can't specify the over-hours. (the sum of hours per month must be specific, but if managers desire they can make you work over hours). - There is not any prior information about critical issues that affect your working environment. - Micromanagement is everywhere around. - No prospects for the future. - There is not any job security. - Your payment is based on one project, but you actually work on multiple. - Bad communication most of the time you have to repeat your words, and efforts. - There is no trust between senior colleagues (they do not easily accept your opinion). - Project management is terrible. - There is not any actual research ( it's more like do this, got paid, next project). - Most of the workers, because the can't cover they over hours just

Pros

- The salary is good for Greek standards.

Cons

- Managers can be rude and controlling. - Managers can insist on things even though they lack technical skills. - There are no paid days off, or even any days off at all as far as I am concerned. - The environment can be toxic.
