Pros
- Pizza Friday - The social committee make an active effort to bring a bit of joy to the lab so god bless them for that - Vending machines (good prices) - Free tea/coffee - Cupboard of dreams - Flexi time
Cons
- Pathways is said to set out a clear ‘pathway’ on how to progress within the company, however when you try to move up the ladder, the pathway requirements changes, how convenient! - Progression up the levels seems to depend on whether the company are doing financially well, rather than how you as an analyst are doing. - Management and analysts are disjointed, there doesn’t seem to be effective communication between the two, and attempts to communicate issues/concerns are swept under the rug. - There is a lack of steady work coming in, even when there is work, it gets stuck at each stage. We are expected to hit productivity targets but when work is hand to mouth, you are asking us to do the impossible. - When there is a lack of work, I’m having to find something to do to pass the time. Other departments in the company have been sent home unpaid when there is no work. - There is a lot of tension and stress within the labs, mental health of staff is declining as mental health checks are non-existent. - Team leaders are scarce and they can’t seem to hire anyone to become a team leader (surprise surprise). This means the few team leaders we do have are stretched out between us, leaving us with little managerial support. - Those who have been at the company for longer seem to think it’s okay to demean those with less experience. - Management will be more concerned about who wrote this review than the issues raised.
