Pros

None, other than that I get paid.

Cons

have had attempts to retroactively take away paid time off that I had earned, they attempted to write me up over time missed with a drs note, and have been asked many times to do work that should only be done by a licensed professional. I have to recommend that anyone avoid employment with. &r.

You're better than this.

Pros

-Out on the properties, if you have a good team (manager, leasing agent, maintenance person, etc) then it's worth it for a part time position or a short-term employment. -Select locations have idyllic scenery.

Cons

Frustrating Personal Treatment: -Never once have I received paperwork (not as a tenant, nor as an employee) that was correct. My first rental contract after I was hired on totaled my rent as -15$ per month. Yes, I regret not signing it. -My first and only raise came after my 3rd year with the company. The spelled my name incorrectly on the pay increase paperwork. -They hired my replacement at a 2% pay increase, and my manager never acknowledged my resignation. An email was sent around to everyone in our area, except me. Problematic Company Ethics and Practices: -The re-hiring of previously fired employees, paired with a refusal to discipline said employee when they continue the behavior that they were fired for, does not a happy co-worker make. -Instead of firing an employee who repeatedly harassed me/had inappropriate relationships with tenants, he was transferred to a different location. -At least one of their offices does not have an employee bathroom. Employees are told to use the bathroom in the grocery store across the street, or to use a vacant tenant. -Re-admittance of tenants that had been evicted, or caused problems for other residents and the company. -Current tenants are paying upwards of 300$ for identical, on-market units. Refused not adjust any prices when confronted. -Raised rents more than 200$ per cycle (which isn’t uncommon in Portland, sadly) and actively forced out good, reliable tenants. By the time I left, all my favorite, long-time tenants had been pushed out and there was a constant 10% vacancy. (In my previous years, our vacancy rate was frequently zero.) -Uses and outdated and scientifically incorrect breed restrictions. -Hires contractors who use unethical and environmentally dangerous chemicals (several dogs and tenants became ill, as well as damage done to local wildlife).

Pros

Good way to get administrative experience if you do not have any or are in school. You can sort of set your schedule.

Cons

Management is difficult to reach in emergencies but expects employees to be instantly reachable for anything no matter how small, even during unscheduled hours.
