      Byrne interviews well, but fails to deliver. If you don't fit, you won't last.

      Pros

      Many different projects in multiple business areas. Some very talented and intelligent individuals. Compensation and benefits above average.

      Cons

      Even if you have years of experience in your field, you won't be using it. You must fit their mold and do as the long-term employees tell you, even if you know of a better or faster way to accomplish the task. I was treated like a no-experience intern and was told I had to re-learn everything. High stress, minimal documentation, loose standards, all politics and who-you-know. Funny thing, when I interviewed at another company they verified my experience point-for-point so it wasn't just me.

      Byrne is a marketed as a great place but here's an insider look at day-to-day development.

      Pros

      There are opportunities to work with many different types of technologies through visiting client sites and working for Byrne, but within another company.

      Cons

      Working in the office, rather than at a client site, is very hectic, the timelines are unreasonable and technologies are not current (or even within a version of current). There are many proprietary systems and software packages that a developer can get put on which aren't very marketable outside of Byrne. This depends on the team though.

      They were hiring and that was it

      Cons

      You only get any accomidations for working from home for emergencies, sickness, etc if you are one of the "favorites", they lowball the pay, their benefits are really awful, and their review for new medical insurance included some questionable business practices such as signing over permission for all the bidding companies to have access to you and your families medical records for the past 5 years, archaic technology, steal their own employees accomplishments and take credit for them.
