Building cool things with a bunch of talented and lovely people
Pros
My experience at Buildkite has so far been fantastic. I've found the work very challenging and interesting, but never too demanding and I've always felt well supported and encourage to maintain a healthy balance between work and the life. We have a very talented team and I'm proud to be able to be a part of making some very cool stuff. Everyone is good natured, up for a good laugh (weekly company-wide meetings are a hoot) and fun to be around. When there are tricky problems to be solved there is no end of talent and experience to draw upon.
Cons
Adapting to the multi-timezone asynchronous collaboration required at Buildkite is a bit of a challenge (but not unusual at all for most tech companies). It can be a little intimidating to join a group where everyone impresses - but you'll soon find your place and be very pleased to keep such good company.
