Pros

Top to bottom, it is filled with many of the kindest, and most talented, people I've ever worked with. The company purpose is centered around helping people, which I find motivating. They take their core values seriously, and attempt to integrate them into everything they do - because of this, you can look at their core values and decide if they align with what you're looking for in a workplace culture, and get a pretty good read on the company that way. Extremely low (approaching zero) drama or politics. When stressful moments occur, employees work together to overcome issues, rather than turning on one another. The company and its products are well-respected within the industry, and you get the chance to do innovative work. Family-based culture that recognizes and appreciates the importance of work-life balance. Flexible in terms of attire, remote work, etc.

Cons

As a small company, it lacks some of the things that you'll find in place in much larger companies. This includes things like fully-established processes, programs for employee support/training, documentation, etc. On the flip side, you get to be a part of establishing those things.

Pros

Culture and personality fit are highly valued here. With such a small tight-knit organization, leadership is very thorough and selective with the interview process. Work-life balance is emphasized, but that’s not used as an excuse for mediocrity: there are high expectations for the work being done. There are a lot of really smart folks on staff, so the level of conversation, creativity and innovation is pretty developed. The staff also does a lot together. It’s rare to eat alone or not have someone to take a quick break with. If you don’t like being friends with or highly interactive with colleagues, this won’t be a good fit for you.

Cons

As with any smaller firm, there tend to be some gaps in processes, particularly around onboarding and transitions. These gaps really aren’t around day-to-day activities. They’re one-off events that end up being frustrating or annoying when they occur, and they’re the kinds of things that larger organizations have cleaned up or addressed simply because they come up more due to the number of employees.
