      Lots of Unpaid Work

      Friendly people, welcoming atmosphere, interesting subjects, nice students

      Cons

      Requires a lot more time than I was led to believe during the hiring process. Bridgeway pays only for the time actually teaching. This means the time required for grading, responding to emails, responding to student phone calls, holding office hours, and attending meetings is all unpaid. And all of this takes up A LOT of time. I'm working almost as many hours as I did for my f/t teaching position, and I'm earning a fraction of that salary.

      Pros

      Bridgeway Academy is a wonderful place to work. I have met amazing people working her. The best part of Bridgeway Academy for me is the ability to work remotely. This flexibility allows me to work in my field as well as raise my family. The staff and administration at Bridgeway has always been very supportive both personally and professionally. The focus at Bridgeway is very much on working as a team.

      Cons

      For me the biggest downfall of Bridgeway is unlike other schools Bridgeway offers classes year round so working during the summer is necessary.
