I worked at Bose full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Some good people left to work with, but they're dropping FAST. Decent benefits. A GREAT legacy deserving of better stewardship.

    Cons

Incompetent and disconnected executive leadership across the board whose cumulative failures are largely responsible for the growing instability within the company. A fatally insular culture that perpetuates a negative dysfunctional feedback loop that has been eroding the bedrock of a once great workplace and company at an ever-increasing rate as the company sheds employees, shutters stores, sells facilities and IPs, and outsources more and more jobs at cut-rate prices for equally cut-rate results. An insiders club culture of cronyism that promotes individuals from within the same out-dated pool of insular and irrelevant groupthink as opppsed to sourcing the best talent with the best skills. A company with GREAT values that they sadly no longer live. Lots of talking the talk but not walking the walk. Pay is not competitive enough to attract and retain the best talent given what is expected of them for what they're paid.

I worked at Bose full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great brand, great products most of the time

    Cons

The environment is toxic, negative and almost everyone is unhappy. CEOs try but can’t seem to figure out how to run a company. Employees are moved from job to job where they have no experience so the business always fails. If they hire smart people from the outside they don’t want to listen to the feedback and eventually those people either leave out of frustration or are fired. Add to that nonstop layoffs to the list and it’s a perfect storm. I’m afraid for the future of Bose.

I have been working at Bose full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The company is a good and reputable company built with lots of care from Dr. Bose.

    Cons

This company is not stable and that comes from old and stale ways of doing things. They need to keep up with the demand and hire passionate people who know knew technology and not rely to stale knowledge from 25 years ago. They are missing every release because of the old ways of doing things. Hence, they keep laying off employees because they don't have a good strategy in place. Every 3 months expect a reorg or lay offs.
