Pros

Who wouldn't want to talk about pools? very fun and interesting topic

Cons

No follow through on promises per want ad. Ad states: $2,500 to $3,500 per week with qualified appointments and to be ready to work right after training class is complete. 3 weeks into it - 3 appointments, 2 credit turn downs. Also the pools are way over priced. The prospect thinks we are there to sell them a $395 pool or perhaps one a bit more expensive if justified. Instead, to purchase the pool for $395 the customer must do several things to qualify which could cost them a couple of grand FIRST. So rep tells them about the other two above ground plastic pools. These start at selling price of over $20,000. Yup. Then if prospect protests the presentation turns into something similar to going to purchase a car, whereby the agent calls the exec sales office and they drop the price several times by making up reasons along the way to do so (untruthful and manipulative they tell the prospect that there is a buyer down the street wanting his house to be a show pool but they are giving them first chance, next comes the employee discount, yadayada) until the price gets to about 8 or 9 grand. At this point the agent is only making 4% and this will only be if the person qualifies or does not cancel. The agent is not allowed to leave the persons home without permission from the exec sales office so they are not independent in the least. The training class guy said he stayed in someone's home one time 8 hours to make a sale. Guys, that's high pressure and it tells me the customer knew the price was WAY to high but they could not get rid of the guy without a real fight.

Pros

You are an independent contractor, with flexibility and freedom to talk to your customers, but other than that the rest is not good

Cons

they put you up in a fancy hotel feed you breakfast and a bunch of crap about all this money you will make, crap you will get 2-3 leads a day crap you will close 1 out of 2 sales crap, your average commission will be $700 crap. I have been working now for over a week and I have only had 1 lead and they didn't buy crap. Don't do it. Bad idea.

Pros

Very good quality pool. Too bad they feel they have to be sneaky in order to sell one.

Cons

Shady tactics. Also, you have to call in to the office as soon as you arrive and speak with an inside sales rep while you're there. You double team the customer until they decide to buy or decide it's too much and you have to wait until the office tells you that you can go. BWP tells you that you are not allowed to talk to the customer once you leave...now why would they do that? Because they don't want you to know what they go behind your back! They call those "NO" saying customers back after you leave and make a better offer because you're no longer in the picture and neither is your commission! I've had my customers call me back to tell me so. One customer was promised that I would be told that they changed their mind to a yes, they called me to tell me so. I never got a call from BWP to cut me back in. You don't get 2-3 sales calls a day either! That's an outright lie! Never got my bonus money either. Thief's!
