Pros

Work from home Equipment provided Direct depost

Cons

-Promotions based on favoritism. -Company claims you must work there a year before being promoted yet a male co-worker of mine who started the same time I did was promoted twice within the 7 months I worked there without even applying for the positions. Another female co-worker was overlooked as well despite having better scores. Another female co-worker quit due to gender discrimination and yet another has spoken out against one of the mangers who treats women like lower class citizens. My former manager called me an emotional employee and told me to not let my emotions get in the way of providing customer service. He told me to disconnect from my emotions when a customer says they cannot afford the $1,000.00 order they accidentally made and we already "shipped." He also told me that when making an offer and the customer said they can't afford it to think about how they will spend that money elsewhere and push them to accept the upsell. -Company claims they are an American-based company who supports America families and yet they are outsourcing to India -Company forces you to partake in unethical practices by supporting their false advertisement and forbids you from knowing where their ingredients are sourced. -Company will not disclose to customers where their ingredients are sourced and will not disclose how much of any ingredient is put into the products. They will not release their own research either. All research is stolen from other websites. -Company will not inform international customers of customs practices on their website and orders are regularly held by customs. The result is a lot of angry customers -Duplicate charges occur regularly and management forces you to try and save those transactions despite knowing these charges were created in error due to the fact that you actually pay for your order upfront before it is even completed. This way the customer's credit card is trapped and they are forced to pay for a bunch of unwanted items. Management and the company's owner is fully aware of the problems this creates -They use PIP plans to weasel out of paying unemployment and to pressure employees to quit.

BioTRUST Nutrition Response

First off, we greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback about your personal experiences, and we want to thank you for all of the time and energy that you invested in BioTrust and our customers. With that being said, we are very sorry to learn that your time with BioTrust has been anything short of superb and did not match our intention of being the best place you ever worked. At BioTrust, we strive for excellence in all that we do, and it’s our goal to create a culture built on integrity, trust, and compassion. It’s our goal to provide a completely positive all-around experience for both our customers and employees. Along those lines, we value all feedback and welcome it with open arms, and that’s why we regularly conduct both customer and employee satisfaction surveys to ensure that we have an accurate pulse on how we’re doing. While we’re proud to be America’s #1 ecommerce nutrition brand, that also means we’re a fast-growing company, and along those lines, we admit that there may be some challenges. We do our best to mitigate those, and in the rare instance when one does arise, we attempt to address them and correct them as quickly and efficiently as possible. We know it took a lot of courage for you to share your experiences, and we want you to know that it matters to us; we are taking your feedback and evaluating any and all places where we may have missed out on delivering anything short of a great experience for you. With that in mind, we greatly appreciate the opportunity to speak briefly to your concerns. We establish detailed job descriptions and qualifications for each position within our company, and all promotions are based on performance metrics and meeting said specific qualifications. With that being said, based on the account that you have provided, we will be looking into the matter immediately to ensure that everything was handled fairly and appropriately. With regard to hiring employees in India, this is indeed true, and we have been very candid about this with our team. The primary goal behind this expansion is to provide our customers with an even more robust Customer Service department as we grow our company. Employing agents from India is NOT a replacement for US-based employees nor is it our intention to reduce the number of US-based employees. This decision is meant to be complementary—not a replacement—and once again, it’s made in the best interest of our customers. Put simply, the assessment of false advertising is slanderous. With regard to comments about ingredients, products, and research, if a customer has a question about the source of an ingredient (e.g., source material, country of origin) or any information pertaining to the purity or potency of our products (e.g., certificate of analysis), we will gladly supply that information. In fact, we do this all the time. When BioTrust Nutrition creates a supplement, our team seeks out only the very best ingredients that scientific studies on real people published in peer-reviewed journals have demonstrated to be markedly effective. Not only that, we only include amounts of each key ingredient that the research has shown to be needed to provide beneficial effects, and we list exactly how much of each ingredient is in the formula. We refuse to cut corners, and unlike many companies, we put our products to the test in randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind studies conducted at prestigious university labs led by world-class researchers. ALL research—both on the individual ingredients and finished goods—is readily available to customers. Regarding customs policies, we openly provide this information to our international customers on our website. We NEVER charge customers for anything that they do not order. The only funds that BioTrust collects is the amount to which the customer has agreed based on the items they have placed into their shopping carts. Customers always have the opportunity to review their orders prior to entering their credit card information. While the industry does run rampant with scam companies, BioTrust is at the polar opposite end of the spectrum; in fact, that’s precisely why we founded BioTrust. We saw an opening in the industry to do the exact opposite of what everyone else was doing. On our website we provide an overview of the BioTrust Difference, which outlines our commitment to quality assurance and doing things the right way for the right reasons. With all of that being said, we welcome the opportunity to discuss these matters with you further. Please feel free to e-mail me directly at HR@BioTrust.com to set up a time to talk. Once again, thank you for taking the time to share your review of your personal experiences. All feedback can be helpful in making BioTrust a better place, and we wish you the best in all of your future endeavors. Sincerely, BioTrust Human Resources

Pros

Decent pay given that it is call center work. They do offer remote positions and provide all equipment needed so that's a plus. It's not a terrible company to work from a management standpoint. For the most part you are left to work indepently unless the infamous "all hands on deck" request is made. See 'advice to mgmt' section for more details on this bit of silliness.

Cons

The product is worthless and the BioTrust website ordering process is very deceptive and misleading. Therefore most of the calls are from angry customers who feel tricked and are requesting returns/refunds. BioTrust uses tedious 'save the sale' tactics instead of just refunding the bilked customers. Most of the customers are elderly and desperate to lose weight but don't understand the ordering process and the deceptive add on offers that follow their initial order. There's no confirmation page during the ordering process to allow the customer to remove items from their online shopping cart. Once the customer hits the submit button they've already been committed to an unclear and really expensive order; very frustrating for both the customer and the CSR.

Pros

Work from home, equipment provided, decent pay for the type of work that it is.

Cons

Ethics. When I first started at this company, there was a strong sense or semblance of camaraderie between sups, employees, and the company itself. It seemed the company really did care about it's people. I worked there for two years and man, did that change hugely. It became INCREDIBLY corporate. I get that as companies get larger they turn less human, but this was accelerated. The feeling that we are actual people quickly disappeared, and the workforce folks became rude and treated the employees like numbers on a sheet. This is all trickle-down from the brass at the top. Additionally, this formerly "100% in-country" company took the anticipated (yet equally disappointing) route of outsourcing jobs to India. We were told, I quote, that "this won't affect your positions or the commissions you make." Total BS. We were also told, again I quote, "this is just a small team in India" - this 'small team' started as 6-8 and is now 30+ and the company has had two major layoffs state-side in the meantime. Additionally, I agree with customers that state the ordering process is a complete scam. The checkout issues are obscene and don't allow people any chance to review or edit an order, and the fact that an order 'ships' in 2 hours and we can do nothing about it is complete BS as well. In all, this company started out great, but it has taken a major slide and downturn.
