Pros

I have made some good friends here. I get paid on a monthly basis (to an extent) and am able to pay my mortgage.

Cons

Very very negative place to work. Staff receive nothing but criticism no matter how hard they work which has led to a severe lack of motivation and morale and no desire to perform well. Employees are not treated as human beings but simply resources and there is no care or consideration for people and their well being. Made to feel like a criminal if you ever dare to phone in sick due to the lack of staff as a direct result of everyone leaving because of unhappiness. No praise/rewards/recognition of any sort (not even verbal) and it takes a whole 10 years of service to be rewarded with one extra day's holiday! Not many people make it that long to actually take advantage of this. In my opinion, it speaks volumes that only a select few people were invited to write a review on this site as only certain opinions are valued and those are positive ones that speak in favour of management. Any conflicting opinion is treated as being invalid. In addition, only the positive reviews have attracted any kind of response. In response to the "I must be working for a different firm!?" review, I have no doubt that this must have been done by a member of senior staff as they are the only ones who are so blinkered as to the issues that the firm has or are perhaps the ones that try to ignore them?! 99% of employees that have left are completely happy with their choice and have no desire whatsoever to return to Beever and Struthers so I find it absolutely crazy to claim that people would soon be asking for their job back! Would also love to know the basis for the calculation that the average length of service is 20 years and how one person can possibly vouch for the views of 'the majority of staff'. The biggest con of all - this review will make absolutely no difference! Nobody cares!

Pros

There is a gated car park outside with key fob access only- my car seems to be safe while I am at work.

Cons

Salary is below market rate- while training and also newly qualified Salary doesn't increase throughout training contract (until right at the end) and management reluctant to provide written details of pay scale Poor information provided at interview stage- no mention of working away for up to 50 nights per annum, no pay scale information No benefits/rewards (monetary or other) or incentives except £100 per annum for passing professional exams (£6pcm approx) where other similar firms pay £250-£500 per exam. Out dated and lengthy expenses reclaim process, no company card or car despite travel in line with that of a sales representative Staff morale and satisfaction extremely low- for many reasons directly related to treatment and working environment Significant divide between management and lower ranks Staff events are non-existent and no money seems to be spent on welfare or socials Company wide pay increase was 1% last year, not in line with inflation and increases in living wage Some staff on slightly below national minimum wage when calculated

Pros

There is a great group of staff, from the top level to the bottom, people work hard for each other and it is a welcoming place for new starters. The training received is a top standard, training for AAT or ACA is a great opportunity for all. The client base is excellent and gives you a wide range of sectors to experience.

Cons

The company is unable to take any form of criticism or advice to improve. It speaks volumes that staff have felt the need to anonymously post in the public domain in order for their voice to be heard. The partners/HR are not approachable enough to discuss concerns/issues with. If you do speak your mind, you feel deflated because you are not listened to and your issue gets completely dismissed. Staff do not feel appreciated, whether it is purely because of the number of staff who have left, the trainees have worked exceptionally hard this year and we have barely had someone say thank you.
