Oh where to start? IT leadership is perhaps the most poor example of executive leadership I have seen in my career. They operate under an assumption they know more than the people that do the work, they promise things by completely unrealistic dates and then work the people to the bone to deliver a product that is half-baked, all while claiming that the "business wouldn't let them go live but they delivered on time". Of course they wouldn't let it go live, it didn't work! For a particular project last year, the project team worked every weekend for a month and a half, only to deliver a product that wasn't even close to ready for production. That product has now been shelved.
The IT group is woefully understaffed, most of that due to attrition because people can't stand to work here longer than a year or so. The expectations are insane without any reward offered. Management will promise you things they have no intention to deliver to keep you happy, but as soon as you put in notice be prepared to be treated as if you betrayed their trust. They'll act like petulant children and not speak to you your entire two week notice period. As a word of advice, if you don't want to deal with the hostility of the last two weeks, just leave when you have the other job secure. Honestly, they don't deserve notice, they wouldn't give it to you if it kept them from losing their jobs due to their mismanagement of a project or team.
Recommend to a friend? I wouldn't recommend this place to a total stranger.
