Pros

Benefits are outstanding. Platinum health insurance plan that costs almost nothing. 10% match on 401k.

Cons

VERY religious company. It's like a religious cult there run by a small handful of Elitists who preach "Servant Leadership" and do anything but. They get huge salaries and bonuses will tell you how you need to work for less and be more fulfilled. If you're not drinking the special koolaid, you are not in the "circle" and if you're not in the "circle", you will never be promoted and more than likely will not be working there too long. It's all about being in the circle. People in the circle get promoted to positions they aren't qualified to do, they get raises and move up while those who are qualified and likely work 10's harder are not appreciated and treated unfairly. They have got to be one of the cheapest companies out there. They do not pay any of the IRS rates for mileage and vehicle allowance. Workers have to stay at cockroach infested hotels. Some get a company car that's 7 years old has 180k miles on it and is about to die and you're expected to drive it all over the place and not complain. Mandatory 50 hour MINIMUM work week and no raises. Forget about working from home so you can take care of your sick kid or needing leave early to go to a Dr.'s appointment. They are slave drivers and always talk about how we need to work harder so they can donate more money to charity and build water systems in 3rd world countries. The think they are on a level playing field with Mammoet and they don't even begin to compare. Mammoet is the best of the best and Barnhart doesnt even come close.

Pros

The work crews are pretty topnotch. Safe and fair.

Cons

Management is a little clutch of self-worshiping phonies. They act so religious then they stab the workers in the back. They fire people they don't see as fitting this religious thing all the time. Be careful of the knives these people carry under their robes.

Pros

Barnhart is a great place to work and earn a living. They do great things worldwide. Somewhere in the range of 95% of Barnhart's profits is donated to help the poorest of the poor every year.

Cons

Unless you are related to, go to church with or are otherwise good friends with someone high enough to give you a job and ensure that you rise you will never be allowed to move up in the company. Barnhart functions on a strict policy of nepotism and cronyism. Talk to nearly anyone who works there or has worked there and you will likely hear this. "It's a great place to work but a terrible place for a career." I believe that the Barnhart family has good intentions but lacks real desire when it comes to actually living up to the mission statement.
