Pros

It’s a library! You get to touch books and engage with customers who are excited to be there. The environment can be relaxed at times. The amount of time off is great.

Cons

Staff morale is at an all-time low. There is a widening gulf between branch staff and administrative staff. Branch staff are being pushed to do more programming with less and less staff. Meanwhile, admin continues to restructure and hire more C suite positions. There is no transparency or communication. Leadership has a clear anti-union agenda.

Pros

The management team at my branch was skilled, empathetic, and collaborative

Cons

No cons really. My branch is across the street from a middle school, so teenagers are very much that Branch's bread and butter.
