Pros

Free Car Park, some nice people amongst peers.

Cons

Middle and Senior Management along with a mindless bunch of HR staff have made this probably the worse company you could have the misfortune to work for. . If you are good at what you do, your manager is likely to feel threatened by you because they are generally work shy and lacking in any common decency. The manager in question, is likely to go out of his or her way to destroy your confidence and actually lie about the way you work in order to damage your progression. You will be micro-managed, bullied, spied upon, back stabbed and criticised for simply working extremely hard and offering excellence in your work. If you think that HR will assist you, forget it. They will take a great pride in adding to your misery by continuing the lies in fact, they will make up the lies for the manager. So many people have been forced out of this organisation, literally frog marched a few months before their retirement so as to satisfy some individuals who have plotted with other managers to destroy a staff members reputation. Others have ended up on hospital with physical and mental scars from the relentless bullying, that key publishing departments will apply to staff members. it seems that anyone that is good at what they do are easy prey. And for those who endeavour to seek legal redress. Don't worry about your day in court, BSI have a tidy sum of money tucked away to cover your out of court settlements, hence why you never get to read about what a sham this company is in the press. Although I suspect the day of reckoning and how tax payer’s money is being wasted on out of court settlements and on paying the salaries to a bunch of lazy middle managers, who I might add, take pride in holding fortnightly meetings to actually slander and back stab members of their team. It will be interesting to see how things will develop as its unlikely that this level of bullying can be sustained as it is only a matter of time when the truth about this organisation will finally come to the public and tax payer’s attention. Pros

Nice building Decent cafeteria but with very slow service Great, friendly people (excluding senior management)

Cons

Sales: Do you enjoy working with narcissistic sycophants? Do you like having no say AT ALL in how you work? Do you like being micromanaged? Do you enjoy having to tell your boss EVERY. SINGLE. THING, ALL. THE. TIME? Do you enjoy having no autonomy in your role? Do you think that senior management should call members of your team liars, causing them to be so demotivated/anxious that they leave? Do you enjoy working with senior managers who believe it’s acceptable to threaten to sack your whole team (for something relatively minor)? Do you like working with senior managers who have read a management book from the 20’s but thinks it’s too progressive? How about working with managers who know the term “situational leadership” and bandy it around regularly, but laughably don’t demonstrate it in ANY way? What about working with managers whose only management style could be classed as Victorian School Mistress (looking after 3 year olds) and who shouldn’t be let anywhere near humans beings? It’s possible that they might actually be poorly programmed robots... maybe using technology from a backward, people-hating planet in a distant universe? Do you enjoy being stabbed in the back by senior managers because THAT’S the actual culture rather than what you might be force fed in terms of the company values? If you can say yes to these questions then BSI is definitely the place for you!

Thank you for your review, I am very sorry to hear about the experience you describe at BSI. We do not condone this type of behaviour and this is not in line with the values we uphold. Please be assured that we are investigating further into the situation you have described. Myself and my Executive team greatly value feedback and would like to encourage anyone who has had a shared experience to raise this with ourselves or HR directly, whether an existing or former colleague.
