Good colleagues, connection with some amazing community members, free access to gigs, you feel like you're making a difference in the Brooklyn community

Cons

Poverty salary, nepotism, must fit a certain "demographic" to be part of management, some community members with no TV experience can have big attitudes

Horrible Management, Nepotism Rules

Pros

Great mission statement, convenient location.

Cons

Management. They are vastly under-qualified because they are placed in their positions by local politicians and board members. They tend to be self-conscious about this so they overcompensate, micromanage, and instill fear into their staff so they won't speak up. Morale is incredibly low. Low-mid staff help to make up for it since they are generally talented and care about their work. But because of poor management, not just with harassment but also with mismanagement of funds and wasted time, there is high turnover with quality staff.

Pros

Great programming and independent ideas from STUDENTS, who are always eager to learn and implement new techniques RIGHT AWAY.

Cons

Besides the fact that hardly anyone ACTS like a professional; it is extremely difficult to do one's job when equipment breaks and bosses are apathetic. Students, Lord, Bless them, do their best, but given curriculum that is outdated and meant for high school kids, there is no motivation--and this is a television studio!! Upward mobility hardly exists at all, and in order to rise int he ranks be prepared for a mountain of ass-kissing or pseudo office politics, which are tempered along lines of race and popularity, NEVER merit. Nepotism runs deep and you'll have to accept that long-time friends and associates will receive cush jobs ahead of you, even if they are unqualified or clueless as to job duties.
