Pros

Location, location, location. Based within a major hospital's cancer treatment centre. Victoria is a beautiful city in which to live. The lab is well equipped.

Cons

Management style is erratic and often counter to employee morale. Insular: very little outside collaboration is pursued or encouraged.

Pros

Victoria is a good place to live.

Cons

I can comment on Victoria centre. Management is ineffective. Caseload for physicians is horrendous and much time is spent on filling forms and organizing care. There is no time or support for academic activities and management only cares about wait list. If you want a career, do not work here. New recruits will be volun-told to see many many new consults without any help or support. Work environment is stressful. Pay is the lowest in Canada.

Pros

Wonderful and dedicated frontline staffs

Cons

Leadership does not have any vision and plan to improve the care and efficiency. They spend a lot of time in many meetings and there are no, zero and zilch results. It is sad. Run away if you can! I am looking for other opportunities.
