Pros

The company has hired a lot of talented individuals who didn't deserve what happened to them.

Cons

Gross lack of professional conduct and ethical behavior. This is an honest review based on my actual experience; others in the company have experienced the same if not worse but I will leave that for them to share. I started at Aventis Systems excited for a new opportunity to learn, be a part of an encouraging team, and grow my abilities as a professional. I quickly learned the disturbing truth of this company as I began to find myself working for people with no morals or accountability and running their business on fear and manipulation. The President lied on multiple occasions and attempted to create chaos across departments by talking negatively about them to each other, spreading rumors and gossip to build a toxic environment. I have seen on multiple occasions where she has put down other women personally and professionally and in turn made it an unsafe place to advocate for others with fear of losing our jobs. The CEO, Hesam Lamei, would harshly speak down to his employees and fire anyone who challenged him. On day one of my job, I was told not to question him or anything he wanted me to do even if it didn’t make logical or financial sense. If you ever attempted to challenge him on his outrageous projects that were expected to be completed at unattainable deadlines, he would turn aggressive, angry, and insult you in any way he could. The eCommerce team management is also another example of toxic leadership as he told his team not to speak to us, walk with us, or even just be friends with us in the office. He constantly had violent outbursts, slammed doors, and would stand up and watch me if I spoke to people on his team. He would also follow me multiple times to the bathroom or when I would go for a walk outside. This is just the tip of the iceberg with the environment of this office. They also asked us to lie to customers about the public knowledge of the company filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy. When it came to work, I experienced an overwhelming amount of anxiety on a daily basis. They would throw new projects at you week after week expecting results, ignoring and derailing all the hard work you’ve been doing by continuously not paying vendors, resulting in campaigns shutting down. They made everything a priority and would continue to give you task lists making the work itself unbearable and the goals unreachable. They would then blame you if you didn’t get them the results they were looking for. Even when you work nights, weekends, and 4 jobs in 1, it is never enough. When you would get your job done and others wouldn't, they would just give you more work and make it seem like it was a good thing by giving you “more responsibility”, even though they were rewarding those who weren’t getting their jobs done. This place shrunk me into a shell of a human taking away my self-esteem, and work ethic, and causing me psychological trauma. I would never recommend working in this environment to anyone. If you are seeing this, do yourself a favor and stay away. They will stop at nothing to get what they want and will burn any bridges they need to come out on top. Look at the reviews for Aventis Systems. They falsified google reviews that were written by employees at the same time as a smoke screen to cover up negative reviews, but if you look at Aventis Systems, the proof is there. You’ll shortly see good reviews after I post this as another attempt to dismiss what I’m saying now. While this is certainly not a comprehensive compilation of all the cons of working for Aventis, it should be more than enough to save those considering employment at this company.

Pros

At the start of my employment, the company offered some decent perks (at the expense of decent pay) such as two flights and occasional lunch on Fridays.

Cons

The eCommerce team is the most poorly managed team I’ve ever been a part of. Management consistently failed to recognize the scope of their requests, often belittling employees with phrases like “it’s not rocket science” and “I’m not running a kindergarten here,” despite lacking the competence to complete these requests themselves. In my experience, management used one-on-one meetings with team members to collect gossip to use against other employees. Rather than address any issues directly with the team, management used manipulative and passive-aggressive tactics to attempt to get their point across. Management continues to get away with antagonizing employees both on the eCommerce team and in other departments, seemingly without any negative repercussions. HR is virtually nonexistent at this company; a HR lead hasn’t lasted longer than a few months there in the past year. Comments on the unprofessional and disrespectful culture of this company were typically met with a write-up from “HR” for gossip and negativity. The eCommerce team has lost multiple employees in the past year, several of whom were women who were treated especially poorly by management. Management tended to retaliate against complaints by taking away company-wide benefits offered at time of hiring. Any benefit beyond your paycheck is considered a privilege, not a right, and management is seemingly able to take those away at any time and for any reason. The CEO, Hesam Lamei, has orchestrated what seems to be a big scam, encouraging the operations team to send out items that the customer did not order (typically substituting items with those of a lower value) and then giving customers the runaround when they want to return the incorrect items and get a refund. Read the company’s reviews on Amazon, Walmart, Newegg, and eBay; customers are consistently receiving items they did not order. The company does not have a very sophisticated inventory system, so the operations team is left to struggle in the warehouse and deal with angry customers. Management seems as if they they will never acknowledge this scam and the poor reviews that result from it for the company’s dismal sales; rather, they like to blame “the market” and other factors outside of their control. The CEO seems to have very little involvement in any of the day-to-day work of the eCom team; despite multiple team members telling him directly that management is the reason they can no longer stay at this company, he seems to look the other way and allows the mistreatment to continue.

There are some good people working there.

Cons

Dishonest company and leadership that take advantage of the people that work there. Most employees are unhappy and stay because they need to provide for their families.
