Pros
- if you like the international development cooperation then it is interesting - the agency is relatively small compared to similar organizations, and it is more human-centric - is respected and has a good reputation among the donor community
Cons
- typical government organization: a lot of bureaucracy, not flexible, decisions are made for weeks/months and pass through several approvers - majority of staff have few theoretical knowledge about the project/program management, only few (if any) have PMP certification - low salary - glass ceiling especially for the local staff in the country offices (despite stated inclusivity principles) and double standards applied in this sense
