Pros

I worked at Austin Communication Group for about nine months. I was not your typical employee. I was older and had more sales experience than any other them, heck, pretty much all of them combined. However, that was not the reason I took the position. I was between cable jobs and wanted to get back to my roots of 30 years ago so I started going door to door. I thought I was going to get just a paycheck, but I got so much more. First, the work is hard, but you learn so much about yourself. The job does not build character as much as reveals it. Second, you will get to know a good group of very motivated people that have aspirations far beyond the front of a door. You might find lifelong friends. Third, it's a pretty fun place to work...if you are young and single. And fourth, you will get thousands of dollars worth of sales training for FREE! You might make some decent money along the way and you might want to move up in the company. All in all I would say my association with ACG was very rewarding and would recommend it to anyone out of college that wants to really learn how to sell.

Cons

It's hard work and most people don't want to do it. However, if you try you might find out things about yourself that you never knew. You can't really put a price on that.

A complete joke

Pros

There are no pros, only a cult of people who are brainwashed into thinking that their time is actually valued and they will get somewhere if they "work hard enough". It's really pathetic actually.

Cons

DOOR TO DOOR SALES. Which is not necessarily a bad job, but if you bust your butt all day and make no sales, you don't get paid at all. Your success rate is almost entirely based on other people and their integrity. How is that in any way fair? My success is determined on if 4 or 5 other people are accountable? What a joke. Also, don't expect any free time. When you get off work at 9:30-10 pm after being there since 10:30 am, you're forced to go to mandatory team nights, and team building nights. If you don't, you will be confronted in front of everyone. Very immature place to work in, don't expect anyone to tell you the truth.
